Links Park Soccer Saturday CANCELLATION

Please be advised that this mornings (19th August) Soccer Saturday session, which includes our 'Little Dribblers' programme, is cancelled.

At LPCT we take great pride in providing both a fun and safe environment for children to participate in, but due to a number of staff members being unavailable, and with no guarantees that we will be able to provide a safe staff to child ratio, we feel it is best to cancel the session.

We realise this will disappoint a large number of our participants, and possibly some adults, but we feel it is the best, and only, protocol to follow when we cannot guarantee the sufficient coach numbers.

Apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause and we look forward to seeing you next Saturday.

Links Park Community Trust

Links Park Community Trust was established in 2011 with one very simple goal; to utilise the power and widespread appeal of sport to inspire change.

Using the facilities provided by Links Park Stadium in Montrose, and alternative venues throughout Angus and the Mearns, LPCT are developing and delivering an extensive range of innovative sporting, healthy and educational programmes, each of which are designed to meet identified local need.

Changing Lives, Saving Lives

...but we NEED your VOTES!

Through football, we firmly believe that we can reach, and support, that others cannot.

We are looking for the support from those in our community, particularly those that shop in Scotmid North & Scotmid Co-operative stores.

Links Park Community Trust have been shortlisted, alongside two other very worthy charitable causes, to receive a £15k, £10k or £5k cash prize from the Scotmid Cooperative 'Community Connect' initiative which will go towards the development and delivery of a new, innovative programme. For more information on the CommunityConnect initiative click here

We wish to support those in our community that are recovering from a drug and/or alcohol addictions!

Our fun and informal football-themed initiative will engage participants in a 12-week programme, involving motivational personal development workshops and practical activity sessions.

WE NEED YOUR HELP:

- SIGN UP as a Scotmid Cooperative member (forms are available in store) and you will receive a Community Connect card!
- Every time you (as a Co-operative member) shop in a Scotmid Food store you can scan your Community Connect Card to receive one Community Connect vote.
- Members then register and attend the Scotmid Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) in October (to be held in Brechin or Montrose). At the meeting you can then use your votes to allocate awards of up to £15,000 to three Good Cause Groups, one of which, of course, being Links Park Community Trust.

Summer Soccer Camps:

We are delighted to provide details of our upcoming SUMMER SOCCER programme for 5 to 15 year-olds!

Montrose Youth Football Club, Montrose Ladies Football Club, Montrose Amateur Football Club & Montrose Walking Club all operate under the umbrella of Links Park Community Trust.

Montrose Youth Football Club benefit greatly from having a strong and diverse independent Committee, with individuals undertaking roles such as Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer & Fundraiser amongst others, and we are in the process of allocating these positions to willing individuals within our Walking Football Club also.

We now wish to recruit able, willing and enthusiastic individuals into the same positions for...

Montrose Ladies FC

The aim therefore of both sides is to allow players in our oldest Montrose Youth Football Club teams (boys and girls) to maintain their participation and development at a high a level as possible.

With our ladies team performing very well in their league, we are now seeking players for our NEW men's Amateur team, to compliment those joining us from Montrose Youth FC.

If you are interested in joining Montrose Amateur F.C, please email our Projects Officer via projects@linksparkct.org.uk and you may, depending on remaining space in our playing squad, be invited to attend an upcoming trial.

'Just Play' Adult Football

Our recreational football programme for adults over the age of 30, provides a fun, relaxed, and informal avenue for men to retain their love of the game without the need for weekly hall bookings, complicated rules, and fancy strips. Simply just turn up, get put into teams, and play!

This initiative serves to provide both physical and social benefits for adults who may be experiencing long term inactivity often due to injury, illness, and work commitments, or simply for those people who wish to continue to play some form of football, albeit in a slightly more relaxed manner.

Our 'Just Play' Adult Football programme is on every Monday 6.30-8pm at Links Park Stadium, with a suggested donation of £4, and continues on as normal throughout the holiday period.

If this sounds like something that may interest you, then get involved!

Tackling Carbon: Boot Recycling Project

A key feature of our Keep Scotland Beautiful (Climate Challenge Fund) 'Tackling Carbon' programme is our innovative Football Boot Recycling Scheme.

We have been encouraging participants to donate used and/or unwanted pairs of boots, instead of sending to landfill via general waste, and we are in a position to showcase over 70 pairs that we have received and are currently looking for a new home!

As from tomorrow, at our Links Park Soccer Saturday initiative, participants (and their parents) will be able to view and acquire boots, in return for a suggested donation of £5, or, in exchange for another pair that may be now too small, for example.

PLEASE DONATE YOUR OLD BOOTS!

Montrose Amateur Football Club:

Links Park Community Trust are delighted to reveal plans for the development of a new men's side, Montrose Amateur FC.

We recently established a ladies side, Montrose Ladies FC (Montrose Girls & Ladies Football Club), and they are competing well in the SWF Division 2 East. The side contain players who have very successfully progressed from Montrose Youth Football Club (MYFC) Girls Under 17's.

Montrose Amateur FC will provide a similar route into the adult men's game for those currently playing for MYFC (& Montrose Football Club) boys teams...ensuring a lifelong (male and female) football participation (recreational, developmental and/or competitive) pathway at LPCT, with our youngest footballer aged 1, and our oldest in their 70's.

Having been provisionally accepted by the Midlands Amateur Football Association Executive Committee, we will be notified of the final outcome of our application at their AGM in June.

Furthermore, we do hope to be in a position shortly to reveal yet another strong partnership - with another local football organisation - but also the development of two additional football teams/programmes. Watch this space...
